The Grange Hall Project: Preserving the Past, Building the Future

For over a century, the Grange Hall has been at the heart of West Tisbury—a place for markets, dances, performances, and community celebrations. More than a building, it’s a living symbol of the Vineyard’s shared history and spirit.

Time, heavy use, and a changing climate have made significant upgrades essential. The Grange Hall Project (2022–2026) is a multi-year commitment to strengthen the Hall’s structure, enhance its functionality, and preserve its historic character for the future.

Project Deliverables

• Pre-Construction (2022–2023 – Complete)

  • Finalized architectural plans

  • Conducted structural engineering review

  • Completed land survey

• Structural Integrity & Restoration (2024–2025 – Complete)

  • Strengthened foundation and roof trusses

  • Installed a new insulated roof

  • Restored and painted historic architectural details

• Final Phase (2026 – In Progress)

  • Restore 44 historic windows

  • Improve energy efficiency with insulation and restored windows

  • Install a modern HVAC system for year-round comfort and air circulation

  • Upgrade the kitchen to commercial-grade to support community events
